This faculty leader will drive the vision for the Data Coordinating Center for Pediatric Multicenter Studies (DCC-PMS) and services with a focus on assuring quality and timeliness of consultation for grant submissions and study design and analysis for grant-funded multi-site studies led by external investigators, Johns Hopkins investigators based on the JHAC campus, and at other Johns Hopkins campuses/facilities. S/he will also lead the Epidemiology and Biostatistics "core" for clinical/translational research on the JHAC campus. This individual will also collaborate with JHAC campus Institute and Center directors to develop and refine curricula and programs that deliver education and training on research methods to the clinical and research communities and other stakeholder groups. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning, Research Program/Initiative Development and Oversight - Leads the development and execution of the JHAC ICTR's DCC-PMS Strategic Vision, with shared accountability (with the Director, JHAC ICTR) for achievement of goals and metrics - Leads the Epidemiology and Biostatistics "core" for clinical/translational research on the JHAC campus, including a team of epidemiologists and biostatisticians. Facilitates the growth of JHACH investigator-initiated clinical and translational research, by collaborating with internal and external investigators - Provides direct consultation, and directs a team of methodologists who do so, to external and internal investigators (based on the JHAC or Baltimore campus) to support study design and analysis of clinical/translational research - Serves as a direct liaison from the JHAC campus to the Deputy Director for Biostatistics & Research Design of the NIH CTSA-funded Johns Hopkins ICTR (Baltimore campus) - Serves as one of two direct liaisons from the JHAC campus to the Deputy Director for Support & Innovation in Multicenter Trials of the NIH CTSA-funded Johns Hopkins ICTR (Baltimore campus) - Actively participates in institutional, regional, national and international collaborations and initiatives related to the DCC-PMS Other Duties and Leadership Responsibilities - Provides strategic input toward the annual budget planning and monitoring for DCC-PMS services as well as the JHACH Epidemiology & Biostatistics shared resource unit for clinical/translational research - Serves as a member, representative, or chair of various research and scientific leadership/governance committees, councils and subcommittees at the JHACH and JHM levels (as per Board/Council/Committee charters and/or as + Provides leadership for the JHAC ICTR DCC-PMS and supervise and/or mentor DCC-PMS staff including epidemiologists, biostatisticians and project manager(s) Serves as a primary/co-mentor clinical research junior faculty and trainees at JHACH - PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related quantitative science - Nationally/Internationally-recognized investigator and/or co-investigator and lead- Epidemiologist/Biostatistician pediatric clinical and translational research - Minimum of 5 years of progressive research leadership experience in an academic health system setting - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lead Epidemiologist/Biostatistician role in pediatric clinical and translational research - Minimum of 10 years of experience participating in a clinical and translational research training program for medical residents, fellows and junior faculty - Track record of collaboration on peer-reviewed funding and peer-reviewed publication productivity in pediatric clinical and translational research - Strong command of regulatory aspects of clinical and translational research - Exceptional written and oral communication skills - Experience in leading a Data Coordinating Center is preferred - Experience in leading an Epidemiology and Biostatistics Core/Shared Resource is preferred - Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and fiscal responsibility at academic division, department, center or shared resource unit level is preferred - Experience as a mentor/co-mentor on (an) extramural Mentored Research Award(s) is preferred - NIH study section (scientific review) member experience is preferred Interested applicants should apply through interfolio.
